Welcome to RoomHeater.co.uk, the one-stop website

Regular servicing, maintenance
and any necessary repairs should only be undertaken by a suitably
qualified professional. If you are in any doubt regarding your heater
discontinue its use immediately and contact a registered engineer.
Heaters do not contain any user-servicable parts and you should never
disassemble your appliance.
The tips contained within this section are only a few
pointers for the everyday care and maintenance of your appliances
and should not be regarded as a substitute for regular checks and
servicing.
Before turning on your room heater....
Inspect all cables on electric heaters for signs of
abrasion and wear. Check that the cable is not loose, broken or damaged,
either where it enters the appliance or at the plug end.
Carefully inspect the rubber hosing and regulator that
is attached to the gas bottle in any portable gas heater. Look for
any looseness of connections, perished or otherwise damaged pipe.
Ensure that any kerosene / paraffin heater is properly
maintained for both safe operation and maximum heat output. This will
include checks on fuel tank filler rubber washer, wick and other parts
of the portable heater, according to its design.
Visually check to make sure that young hands haven't
introduced any foreign objects through the grille of your room heater.
Paper, cloth, pencils and all manner of other items can all present
a significant risk near any heat source
Try to avoid situations where a lot of dust may enter
an electric heater. The 'burning dust' smell is one all to commonly
associated with old fan heaters.
With portable gas fires you must also check that gas
jets are clear and the fire is burning as it should be. The flame
should burn blue and be evenly spread according to the setting.
